Weston, Florida, - Ms. VPX Redline Anastagia Pierre takes the crown at the 2011 Miss Bahamas Universe Pageant. The Atlantis Theatre on Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas, was nearly filled to capacity Sunday night and electrified with excitement in anticipation of who would win this Miss Universe qualifying event. The cacophony of cowbells, whistles, and shouting sounded more like a rodeo than a beauty pageant as the pageant's contestants paraded across the stage.
The evening's opening performance mirrored the "All that jazz" theme of the event and quickly moved into the bathing suit and evening gown programs. Once in full swing, it became painfully clear that the judges had their work cut out for them.
Even Michelle Malcom, president of the Miss Bahamas Organization said "It was a tough competition." It was amid this tough competition - perhaps the toughest in recent memory - that the 22 year-old former 2009 Miss Florida USA won the coveted Miss Bahamas Universe crown.
CEO of VPX/Redline, Jack Owoc said, "Wow, all of the contestants were stunning! However, it was Anastasia's time to shine. Even within a group of intense competitors Ms. Pierre stood out like a queen. When it came down to the final five contestants, "Stagia" answered the game breaking question so articulately and eloquently that the crowd's roar made some of her last words barely discernible! Even before the judges' final decision we knew the victory was secured etching Anastagia Pierre's name forever in history."
What's next for Stagia?
