N-3 fats, aka omega-3 fats (or fatty acids) are simple marvelous.  In fact, or perhaps in fat, if there is one food all of us should consume, its fatty fish (e.g. salmon) that’s chock full of the omega-3 fatty acids. But many of you would rather fall face first into a porcupine than eat fish, so the next best thing is to supplement with this super fat.  Why?  Well let me count the ways.  Here’s a little science edification. We know the following health-related benefits of the omega-3 fats.  Its potent anti-inflammatory effects carries with it a plethora of benefits. Scientists are currently evaluating the potential therapeutic effects of fish oils (i.e. the omega 3 fats) in numerous conditions, including arthritis, coronary artery disease, inflammatory bowel disease, asthma, and sepsis, all of which have inflammation as a key component of their pathology.[1]  Not only does this stuff work wonders with health, it can even improve body composition.  Yessiree.  Gain muscle, lose fat. Everybody’s dream.  A recent study published in the kick-ass scientific publication, the Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, found that fish oil supplementation significantly increased lean mass and decreased fat mass. These changes were significantly correlated with a reduction in salivary cortisol following treatment with these omega 3 fats.[2]  Another study found that in young, overweight men, the inclusion of either lean or fatty fish, or fish oil as part of an energy-restricted diet resulted in approximately 1 kg more weight loss after 4 weeks, than did a similar diet without seafood or supplement of marine origin.[3]  Also, omega 3 fat supplements and regular exercise both reduce body fat and improve cardiovascular and metabolic health.[4]

That’s why VPX’s CocoFit has added the hard to get omega 3 fatty acids to its hydration beverage.  Drink CocoFit for the benefits of these amazing fats.  Remember, every little bit you get in your diet helps!
